My professional background spans mental health, neurology and acquired brain injury, including work with individuals following stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological illness, persistent pain and psychological distress.
Neurological conditions, chronic pain and mental health difficulties may occur independently or together. All can significantly affect cognition, emotional regulation, physical capacity, sleep, fatigue, confidence and vocational identity. My role is to understand the interaction between physical health, brain function, mental wellbeing, environmental demands and occupational roles, and to translate this understanding into meaningful change.
My work integrates principles and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, coaching approaches, and mindfulness-based and relaxation techniques. These are used flexibly and collaboratively within an occupational therapy framework.
I support individuals to build self-esteem and confidence, manage stress and low mood, develop effective pain and fatigue management strategies, explore the role of physical activity in mental health, and re-establish sustainable daily routines.
I look forward to hearing from you.
