Abbie Hancock's profile

Abbie Hancock

Hi, I am a Health and Care Professions Council Registered Occupational Therapist with experience in working with children and young people with a range of needs. I have worked in the public and private sectors in preschools, primary and secondary schools in South London, Surrey and Kent. I have just moved to Sevenoaks, Kent and now work here and in surrounding areas.

I support families through Occupational Therapy (OT) at home, school and in my Clinic. I am an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner in Ayres Sensory Integration (SIPT Certified & CLASI Level 2–equivalent to SI Level 4) and I am a Trauma Informed Therapist.

I can complete comprehensive OT assessments and reports, SIPT and Sensory Profiles and more detailed OT assessments and reports such as those required for Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) Assessments.

Treatments are selected and tailored to each child's needs (I create treatment plans together with you and take it one step at a time). Treatment can include individualised exercise programmes, sensory strategies and targets to measure progress. I have post-graduate training in executive functioning and handwriting skills. I provide Intensive Handwriting Programmes one to one and in small groups using a sensory motor approach.

I also provide OT and Sensory Integration training, coaching and advice to parents and teaching staff either face to face or via Telehealth.

I also do OT with horses for children over 6 years old. This is ground work and not riding. Horses are a wonderful medium for working with children, young people and their families to understand difficulties related to relationships, mental health and overall wellbeing.

If you think I can help or would like to know more please do not hesitate to contact me
