Janet Sinck's profile

Janet Sinck Key trainer certificate in People Handling and Risk Assessment

I am a highly skilled OT with over 17 years' experience working mainly in the community with adults and the elderly with a wide variety of predominantly physical and neurological disabilities, including dementia. I work closely not just with the client, but also with families and their carers who may be offering support to maximise independence and encourage a good quality of living for the person concerned. Bespoke assessments are arranged at a convenient time for client and family to fully assess and plan an appropriate intervention package to meet needs. I am able to offer professional support and advice in many areas including equipment assessments, major and minor adaptations (including stair lifts, through floor lifts, ceiling track hoists and ramps), mobility assessments and seating assessments. I can assist in sourcing specialist products and arrange demonstrations. I have worked with many architects and builders to help plan new builds and adapt old builds for specific physical needs. In the last few years I have worked in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence to appropriately re-house/adapt properties for servicemen and servicewomen. I hold a key trainer certificate in People Handling and Risk Assessment and able to offer specialist input in Moving and Handling issues and training to carers to teach different techniques and/or correct methods when hoisting for transfers. Based in Oxfordshire, I am able to cover Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
