I have been qualified as an Occupational Therapist since 1975 and have carried out a variety of roles within the profession, all of which have contributed to my expertise. I have worked in psychiatry and learning disability. From 1987 I worked in the local authority with people with physical disabilities and specialised in the field of moving and handling. In 2013 I left the local authority to be come an independent OT. I am now an independent occupational therapist with long experience in ergonomic risk assessment and moving & handling and training. I am fully committed to provide a service that enhances the lives of clients, both adults and children, and those who care for them, by providing advice, information and training in moving and handling. I am able to complete risk assessments and using problem solving techniques look for safer solutions in risky situations. I am also committed to providing comprehensive up to date moving and handling training both individually and in groups to trainers and those providing care. I have many years experience in social care equipment provision and advise as well as adaptations to housing to enhance the independence and care of adults with physical disabilities. I am experienced in providing ergonomic workplace assessments. Providing advise on equipment, set up of work station and work practices for individuals who have issues in their workplace.
