Julia Coleman's profile

Julia Coleman I qualified with a BSc in Occupational therapy in 2008 in Otago, New Zealand. HCPC registered Member of BAOT Member of RCOTSS-Independent Practice Member of RCOTSS-Neurological Practice Member of RCOTSS-Older People

I am a highly skilled occupational therapist with international experience in the assessment and treatment of older people and people with neurological and complex conditions including; acquired brain injury, spinal cord injuries, polytraumas and progressive neurological conditions. For the last 8 years I have practiced in the NHS in major trauma and care of the elderly and continue to do so on a part time basis. This gives me a clear understanding of some of the limitations our wonderful NHS is under and I feel it is important people are able to access in-depth occupational therapy assessment and treatment in their own homes and communities. I believe goal setting is incredibly important on the journey to increasing independence and this helps me to form a treatment plan with the person and their loved ones. I am passionate about rehabilitation and achieving people's goals by utilising specific exercises or equipment and engaging people in meaningful activities. If you or someone you love is struggling with day to day tasks please get in touch so we can discuss how I can help.
