Based in the Lothian’s of Scotland, Involve Occupational Therapy is here to help you or someone you care for live a more independent life. Using a solution focussed, goal orientated approach, a bespoke, individual, treatment programme suited to your individual goals will be developed.

Initial consultation will include assessment of problems and difficulties in carrying out specific tasks or occupations through observation and discussion.

Following this a bespoke, solution focussed, treatment programme targeting problem areas is developed. This can include activity programmes, advice on equipment to aid performance, relaxation exercises, recommendations on adaptations to the environment to make tasks easier and safer and discussion around care options and recommendations for the future.

Involve Occupational Therapy have extensive experience in:

  • autism and developmental co-ordination disorders

  • teaching mindfulness, relaxation and anxiety management

  • facilitating self-management of long term conditions

  • graded activity, activity analysis and pacing

  • assessment, provision and fitting of aids and adaptations

  • working with families, schools and individuals

Joanne has extensive experience of working for 23 years as an Occupational Therapist throughout the NHS, Social Care and private sector within hospital and community settings. She has enthusiasm, determination and passion in enabling individuals to live freer, independent lives. Data protection registered, PVG checked and a member of the Health and Care Professions Council.
