I throughly enjoy working with children and am committed to helping the children I work with to progress towards their individual potential and optimum function.
For eleven years I have worked as a Children's Occupational Therapist where I have assessed and provided treatment for children both individually and in groups within special schools, mainstream primary/secondary schools, hospital clinics and in their own home environment. I am experienced in writing detailed reports, therapy programmes and sensory diets. Additionally, I am able to provide advice about specialist equipment for example to support a child's posture and motor function ( sitting, feeding, dressing, toileting, handwriting, scissor skills) or for sensory modulation issues.
Through assessment treatment is tailored to the needs of each individual child. Depending on the needs of your child, intervention may include the following areas: gross and fine motor skills, bilateral coordination skills, handwriting, visual motor integration skills, visual perceptual skills, perceptual motor skills, sensory processing and personal care skills. School/nursery consultation visits can be arranged. Assessment and advice can be provided to assist with nursery/school transitions.
