Amanda Martell

AMOTivate Ltd

Amanda is an enthusiastic & compassionate Paediatric OT who has over 20 years’ experience of working with children & young people.

Amanda provides a variety of face-to-face intervention supported by training to private, voluntary, Independent, pre-school & mainstream settings and family / carer services, working in partnership to support staff and parents in addressing the needs of children & young people. Amanda supports educators in demystifying professional advice (IEPs, EHCPs etc) and to enable them to embed this advice into the curriculum. In line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) / UN convention on the rights of the child / SEND code of practice, Amanda provides staff with the necessary tool kit to identify strengths / challenges and specific / varying needs, of those children with (or without) SEND. Amanda has recently been involved with Local Authorities on Resilience and Bouncing Forward, in response to the COVID-19 recovery plan.

Amanda has a wide range of experience in both clinical & managerial OT service (NHS & local authority) as well as in the private sector, specialising in working in Early Years & SEND. The aim of OT in working within these environments is to help them to understand occupational performance difficulties and how they may impact on a child’s emotional regulation and well-being. Amanda works with providers / children, young people and families to problem solve, share ideas, and to identify strategies to support the child in areas such as self-care, education, play and leisure pursuits.
